Winter in FL was busy getting our house finished, but we still had time for some fun!  Friends, Gisela & Bill stopped for a visit on their way down to the Keys.  We went to the Brevard Zoo which was really nice.  The rest of the time was spent enjoying what we do best, play games, eat good food and drink good wine.

Jim, Bev & the boys visited us on their way home from their Disney World vacation.  It was near enough to Christmas to have an early celebration.  The little house was under construction but we set up picnic tables inside, exchanged gifts and had dinner.

We spent Christmas day on the beach with a pitcher of bloody Mary’s and lox & bagels.  We spent New Year’s Eve with our friends, Ron & Marlene.  We had fun playing our favorite game, Pegs & Jokers.  New Year’s Day we went to the beach, again with some bloody Marys.

Mid January we drove up to SC to pick up our stuff that has been in storage at our sons’ houses for almost 9 years.  We rented a uhaul to bring it all back.  It was very interesting to see some of the things that I saved.  I was happy to see some things that we could use, but most of it went into the yard sale pile.

We needed to buy appliances.  It is the first time that we had to choose all new appliances and the first time ever to buy a new stove.  We cooked and ate our first meal in our building on Valentines Day.

In March we spent the weekend on the west coast of FL to visit with friends, Gary & Carol, in Punta Gorda and spend the weekend at George & Marla’s new home in Port Charlotte with Regina & Paul.  We had a wonderful time playing games, eating & drinking.  We went to Englewood Beach to hunt for sharks teeth.  And then, on our way home, we stopped in St Petersburg and had lunch with our old friends, Pat & Scott from PA.  It was fun to visit with so many friends in one short weekend.

Our good friend, Caz, lost his battle with cancer at the end of February.  He was a fun-loving person and will truly be missed.

In April, we packed up and closed the house so we could head up to Greenville SC to be with our youngest son, Brian, for celebration of his wedding day.  There were showers to attend and a golf outing in Charleston for the men.  The big day is May 9th.
