Winter in Florida 2011-2012
We get back to Florida in October. We take a drive up to Greenville SC, for Thanksgiving. It is the first time we drove the Kia on a long drive. It was very comfortable and less tiring. We enjoyed a good Thanksgiving Day with the family.
We now have our RV lot and cottage up for sale at The Great Outdoors RV Resort. When it sells, we will be shopping for a small house somewhere in FL. We also decided that we want to downsize our 5th Wheel and truck. Since we only travel during the summer, we do not need to tow a large unit. And Ron is tired of driving a 1 ton 6 speed pickup. We put up "For Sale" signs and hoped to find a buyer. Then, we start shopping for a trailer. It is not an easy task to find a nice, small trailer. Most are designed for short term family vacation use. We still need space for storage of our belongings. Finally, we saw a 29'Sunnybrook trailer at an RV show, and traded in our 5th wheel. Then, Ron sold the truck and bought a new 1500 Ram truck. We are very happy with our new home and truck.
In March we flew up to NJ to see our grandson, Chris, graduate from the US Coast Guard training center. It was wonderful to see him do so well. He will be stationed in Miami & Jacksonville. We had a good time, but did not like the cold NJ weather!
Spring quickly approached. After getting organized in the new trailer, we took an overseas cruise to Spain, with my sister Nancy and our friends, the Pollocks. We were on the ship for 14 days, not seeing land until the 9th day. When we got to our final port of Barcelona, we rented an apartment for a week. A good time was had by all.
