In May we are ready to get on the road again. The love bugs were really bad this year in FL. You are lucky if you do not know what they are and have not experienced them. We head up to Greenville SC to attend our grandsons graduation from High School. We are very proud of him and he plans to enlist in the Coast Guard this fall. We enjoy a month being with our family.
In June, we take a Sailing Adventure to the British Virgin Islands. We had a wonderful time sailing around the islands on a 43' Catamaran, snorkeling, floating around and trying to find the best Bushwacker or Painkiller in the islands. You realize they are rum drinks, right? Fun was had by all and it was hard to get back to reality when we got back.
We left SC, we head up to Michigan for the month of July. We have never been to Michigan and figured it was about time we did. We met with our friends, the Hager's, in Holland and continued to tour with them until we went up to the Upper Peninsula. From there we continued around the UP and they headed to the Canadian Maritimes. We were most impressed by the huge dunes and the water color of Lake Michigan.
When we left Michigan, we went through Canada and toured Ottawa and Montreal. We thought both cities were quite beautiful. The architecture in Ottawa was impressive and Montreal was very European.
The last week of July we were in New Hampshire to visit with our oldest son, Jack and his family. All the grandchildren and our great-granddaughter were there. We took Jack up to Mount Washington on a beautiful day. It was a good time.
In August we celebrated our birthdays in Clayton NY with our friends Jil & Tom. We went to a great restaurant in Sackets Harbor and went on a boat tour of the St. Lawrence Seaway with their friends. On to NJ for a nieces wedding and then to one of our favorite places, Assateague National Seashore for a week on the beach. Then, we spent the rest of the summer at Riverbend RV Park in Lake Toxaway NC. We took a few hikes to the waterfalls and Ron played golf each week with the guys. The weather turned Fall-like and it was time to head back to FL by the end of September.
